Last Stand celebrates 20th year ~ |
| Last
Stand celebrated its 20th*
anniversary with a well-attended pot-luck supper
September 23, at the Nancy Foster Eco-Discovery Center
in Key West. The celebration also featured a
Community Steward Award presentation to past (2005-2006)
president Dennis Henize, from 1000 Friends of Florida.
Charles Pattison, president of 1000
Friends of Florida, a statewide group with ideals for
conservation and sound planning similar to those of
Last Stand,
presented Dennis the award in recognition of his three
decades of environmental and community activism in the
Keys.
Mr. Pattison also made a presentation
on Florida 2060, 1000FoF's look at where
Florida is heading in the next 50 years.
(*We've actually been around
longer than 20 years, but incorporated in 1987.)
