Well over
100 Last Stand members, friends, and guests enjoyed 2008's
Protecting Paradise, our big annual fundraising bash,
Thursday, March 6.
This
year's party was at the beautifully remodeled home of Jean
Carper.
It was a
gorgeous spring Key West evening. Members and guests mingled and talked
while nibbling on a variety of eats catered by Small Chef at Large, Jennifer
Cornell. |

Guest bartenders Audree Chase, Marci Rose,
Jesse Scott and Nicole Malo kept the
glasses full. |

| Music for PP08 was by Skipper Kripitz
and Friends, a delightful combo with a great repertoire for a delightful evening
in a gorgeous setting. |

The Silent Auction was a great success,
with items graciously donated by over 50 local artists,
writers, restaurateurs, merchants and individuals.
We thank those who
donated items for the auction, and we thank those who bid on them.
Al Sullivan, Board President, gave a brief pep talk to those assembled, reminding all that legal battles
and other things we do cost money, and that is why we have fundraisers -- well,
that, and to have fun and enjoy each others' company. He also
announced that Rosi Ware is retiring from Last Stand's Board of
Directors after several years of fantastic work. |
